Everything has been *really* good, except for the baklava, which was very dry.

Laffas are great for lunch. Consistently fresh and delicious. The salads are also really good, but they are hard to eat if you don't transfer them onto a plate, because the containers are really packed full. Many of the items are big enough to share or divide for lunch over 2 days, which makes them a great value.

Food arrived 45 minutes after promised time and arrived cold. Do not recommend ordering delivery from this place. Dine in only.

Took an hour and 45 minutes. I called twice to complain and asked for a manager and everybody was rude and not one person offered an apology, a refund, or seemed to care at all. Awful experience. Never ordering from here again.

The food was extremely disappointing, probably the worst Mediterranean food I've tasted in a long time. For the price they charge, I was quite shocked by how bad it was.

Ordered over 90 min ago and have yet to receive food. Woman answering the phone could care less. Don't order; mediocre hummus isn't worth it. I'd rather eat Sabra.

Food was okay, but small portions, thin shnitzel and over-priced!

I think their food is pretty good - the hummus and the laffa wraps - but their platters are soooooooooo overpriced! I ordered the chicken kabob platter - which was DELICIOUS - but they only sent 5 tiny pieces of chicken! For almost $20!
Posted 9 months ago by Rebekah Q.
The so-called *super healthy salad* was a major disappointment. It arrived fridge-cold, and consisted of quinoa, 4 pieces of half-cooked sweet potato, a few cranberried, and one pience of walnut.
The app-sized hummus arrived lukewarm and was much better.
Delivery time was close to one hour on a Sunday afternoon, although it saiud 30-45 mins when I order.
Conclusion: You may be better off stticking to the hummus, but allow time for delivery.

ordered three times and last two times the food was really bad. Bureka tasted like throw up filled, the meatballs were bad the red sauce was bad - very disappointed bc when I was there before I started to order online, I had a good time...

Couscous isn't exactly steamed t perfection but it's the best option on the UES. Hummus and Falafel are good.
Posted 10 months ago by Erin G.
This is the most OVERPRICED restaurant I have ever seen. The portions are ridiculously small. I ordered the chicken kebab with rice and the plastic container was two-thirds empty. You could easily count the grains of rice. What a joke.
The vegetable salad was awful. My friends left their food mostly untouched.
Posted 10 months ago by Denis S.
Good quality, fresh food. But just a little bland, as if they don't season anything, at all. I don't mind using salt and pepper and other spices on the Magadara and chopped salad, but it should have some kind of seasoning. Anyway, quick delivery and great for vegans. Will order again.

Worst Food the restaurant should take its name off the Mediterranean cuisine definately has no idea what it is

This place was good, seems like they are trying to cut corners now. Just threw away 2/3's of my delivery.
Posted 10 months ago by lauren d.
grilled chicken does not come with chopped salad as mentioned.
It was a lonely small thin piece of grilled chicken, smaller than the size of my palm on a bed of rice. I didn't even see the chicken in there are first. F0r $18 they should really be embarrassed.
Horrible customer service when I called to complain about the chopped salad and asked if maybe they made a mistake and forgot to put the chicken in?

Quick delivery and the hummus is delicious!

Food is terrific, but the value is less than ideal. I think it's the best food of its type on the UES yet it doesn't come cheaply.

I always get the Super Healthy Salad which is unique & delicious, but could use something like walnuts to add crunch to the texture. Still a great dish, though, and they added extra sweet potatoes for free when I asked for it. Service is always friendly and the food is always fresh.

I have ordered the Kebab Laffa dish many times before, The flavors are good for kebab and I am normally pretty happy with this sandwich, but every once in a while, they don't cook the beef thoroughly and I am left with raw meat. For a $12 sandwich, this shouldn't be happening. I was not happy.

the shakshuka is good. could maybe be a little spicier. but not sure how spicy it usually is, to be honest. egyptian hummus could be a little more flavorful, but it's a nice mix of ingredients. food meets expectations over all. it's not hummus place, but it'll do!

Food was ok, the drinks were amazing and the humus was alright however, I ordered the Chicken couscous and got couscous less chicken. It was described to be couscous with cinnamon raisins and onions but arrived with potatoes, chickpeas among other things. The food was also a tad bland. I would come here again but just for humus and the lemonada

Really the only class falafel joint anywhere around here, and I've tried them all. Food is fresh and flavorful and the preparation is spot on. No, it's not Taim, but it definitely hits the spot when the craving arises. I'm a fan for sure.

I fell in love with this place the first time I tasted the food in restaurant. I was happy that they had a upper east side location so I could order lunch during weekdays. The Garden Vegetable Soup is a healthy version of Vegan Soul food, so filling and yet so healthy. Love the Majadra rice. Good food for reasonable price.

Sirloin hummus is amazing, so is the mushroom hummus with hard boiled egg. Falafel laffa is ok, but a little dry. I wish they had some tzatziki or any kind of sauce with dill in it to add on.

I've been searching and searching for a Seamless restaurant with good vegan options and have been disappointed so many times. Thankfully, the search is over! I was beyond pleased with the food from Hummus Kitchen. The hummus is divine, the falafel is flavorful, the bureka is delicious, even the pita was fantastic. Finally, a vegan go-to on the UES!

Food is very good, however, they have an unfair pricing policy. I ordered from them for the first time a week ago on seamless. THEY distributed with my order a print menu to me reflecting a lunch special for $8.95. I then ordered that special and they refused to honor their published price. The manager claimed that the lunch special was eliminated 3 months ago. That means they have had three months to change their print menus and have not done so! Put a sticker over it or change your print menu. Unfair.

Love the food here. But they seem to have a problem with delivery at lunch time and the staff on the phone is never very helpful.
Posted 2 years ago by Meredith S.
Good food but the the delivery service takes way too long. I used to order from here all the time, but got fed up with the delivery waiting time and the attitude you get when you call up to inquire where your food is. Just tonight I thought I'd give them another chance, having not used them for 9 months, but over an hour and my food still isn't here and the same old reliable attitude on the phone when I called. The hummus isn't good enough to justify my frustration from ordering from this place!

Great food, worst service! Delivery takes way too long, food arrives cold, and they always forget parts of the order. When you call to complain they give you an attitude.

I love this place! Super healthy and unique, they offer a great variety of middle-eastern types of foods. I can get hummus and my boyfriend can get a dish of lamb or sirloin. They have a great variety and they were so polite when I picked up my food. I think they could have a little more variation in the hummus, but overall I think its great. I'd even consider getting at as a grocery stable rather than the store-bought brands I eat throughout the week.
Posted 3 years ago by Courtney P.
Sadly, their falafel balls lacking flavor (though they usually arrive cold, I am 10 blocks away so I do not really hold that against them too hard.)
The Mediterranean chopped salad is VERY tasty.
Their Pita are so fresh and tasty I order extra for breakfast the nest day!

I hate to say this, but Hummus Kitchen is better than Pyramida, and that's saying a lot. The quality of the homemade hummus is superb and creamy, with just enough tahini to underscore the umami kick of the chickpeas. (NB: If you like grainy, sour, lemony hummus, these guys might not be your best bet.) The mezzes are all delicious--check out the beets with walnuts. Their delivery guys are a little sloppy, but the post-delivery sloshed-around hummus is just as delicious as the neater, more presentable version. I couldn't recommend this place more and having a decent mediterranean joint in the neighborhood almost makes up for the scorched-earth noodle soup situation dealt with daily up here on that ivoriest of towers, the UES.

Best restaurant on the UES. Order early because way too many people agree with me and sometimes they can take over an hour. Their couscous is also incredible.

Chicken Hummus a delight, but Sirloin had badly overcooked meat.
Posted 3 years ago by Rick F.
This place is all about the chickpea, and they do it extremely well! The lunch special is fantastic, although at times it seems like they give you too much food. I love the falafel, and the pita bread always arrives warm and plentiful. Definitely recommend.

The chicken couscous entree is amazing. The hummus with mushrooms is the best version, though Beyoglu has the very best hummus on the UES.
Posted 3 years ago by Julie O.
Excellent; food consistently excellent, fresh; never dissapoints
Posted 3 years ago by Michael S.
While the food is good here, I have to say that the portions are all filler and no substance. I just ordered a chick kabob plate (nearly $15.00) and got a plate full of rice with about 4 small chunks of chicken. Not worth the money at all. Will not be ordering a $15 plate of rice again!!!
Posted 3 years ago by Elan D.
Took too long, hummus was horrible, meals were not very good, desserts were not good either. I don't drink, but I am certain the lava cake had alcohol in it. So obviously, I did not like the lava cake either.
Posted 3 years ago by Paul M.
Chicken kabob platter was delicious. Although the rice that came with it was a little dry. I also ordered the hummus with no chickpeas on top, and it came just the way I like it.

This restaurant has good food, but horrendous service. They are consistently late with deliveries. This evening they were two hours late and didn't deliver until after two phone calls. On the second phone call the manager told me that they basically lost the order and will have to do it again. I asked that he have it hear ASAP and he said he had other orders to take care of first and that I should be nice to him because it's not his fault! Unbelievably unprofessional. I will never eat at this restaurant again.

Posted 3 years ago by Benjamin T.
the food was terrible, the meat was rubbery. It took over an hour to deliver even though i only live 6 blocks away. i had to call multiple times to find out where my order was, they continued to say it was on its way, and 25 minutes later when i called again they tried calling their delivery boy, couldn't find him or my food. when it finally did arrive it was luke warm and inedible.
Posted 3 years ago by Saya w.
I thought I'd give this place a try because of its 5 star rating. The last few negative reviews are spot on...the FOOD TAKES FOREVER to show up and when you call them to inquire, they tell you it's on its way. Really? I wasn't aware that it took 30+ minutes to ride, scoot, skip or or even walk slowly 6 UES blocks (not even avenues). Don't waste your time ordering from this restaurant. It may be good food but how would you know if it shows up cold and over an hour and 30 minutes late?
Posted 3 years ago by Lauren G.
Tahini platter's rice was tasty, but kebab was BURNT & hard as rocks! Inedible, had throw in garbage. Baba was a small portion for the price charged. Overall a poor value. Will not order again.
Posted 3 years ago by Susan T.
I have been ordering from Hummus Kitchen via Seamless Web for the last year and the food is excellent. Unfortunately, the delivery service has fallen off a cliff in the last month (October 2010). Plan to wait at least an hour for delivery and be prepared for food that arrives cold.

Terrible service. Never got a chance to rate the food. I received order confirmation at 8:32 PM with a 30-45 minute estimated delivery time. I called at 9:41 to check status of order and was told that it "just went out for delivery and will be there in a few minutes." Called again at 10:19 and was told they had no record of the order. I was told by the manager that when I first called they had assumed that since the order was not in the restaurant that it must have been out for delivery.

I love ordering from this place, and will continue to order more in the near future now that the MTA 2nd Ave Subway project has taken away the fantastic outside seating that used to exist for the place.
Don't hesitate - order today. Always arrives fast too, well within delivery window posted here.

This new little gem is a delicious and healthy find. Everything tasted so fresh and light yet very satisfying!!!! The only problem I have had in ordering is that the staff appears unaware of the soup of the day and one time called to correct their mistake and the second time sent something different from what I thought I was ordering. The mistake was still delicious!
